Frequently Asked Questions

1) Who is eligible to use the program?
The program is open to any approved visitor on the inmate’s approved visitor list. A visit can only occur if you have been a previous visitor to the facility. If you do not know whether you are approved, you can always contact the facility directly. Contact the Cleveland Eastside Ecumenical Consortium for further information.

2) How much does it cost to participate in the program?
The program is totally cost free to approved users.

3) How long can we visit with our loved ones?
Currently, each televisit is limited to one (1) hour.

4) How are the visits scheduled?
Call our office at (216) 426-0882, and speak with our Visitation Coordinator to request a televisit. The visitation coordinator schedules, verifies, and confirms all televisits.

5) What is the maximum number of visitors that can come at one time?
There can be a maximum number of five (5) visitors per televisit. This number includes infants and children.

6) How often can we televisit?
Inmates are allowed up to 16 televisitation hours per month.

7) Can the inmate’s children and/or other minor children relatives visit?
Yes. Birth certificates of minor children must be on file at the institution. The correctional facility has the final say as to whether or not a child can participate in a visit. A notarized letter of consent must accompany children not related to the inmate.

8) How does the program work?
The program uses video-conferencing software, television monitors and high speed/high capacity telephone lines that allow you to see, hear, and converse with your loved one in real time. Real time means that there is no delay in transmission. You see and hear at the exact time you look and listen. The visits are private and secure.

9) How do I become an approved visitor?
You must bring photo identification to verify who you are. The only acceptable ID is a valid Ohio driver’s license or state identification card with a photo.

10) Does this program replace live visits to the facility?
Absolutely Not! You can still visit with loved ones at the facility.
